writing-exposure [powerpress] For years now people have always paid little attention to writers, people who can create ideas and this attention shifted to the technical groups. Things are changing fast, especially with the rapid growth the internet is experiencing.

Writers now have the upper hand.

Take a look at every major marketing approach or any approach for succeeding online and you will notice writing is involved. You can’t ignore it, whether you’re a corporation or the giant company looking to gain more exposure and improve your revenue.

Are you too reliant on trite approach every other person uses in your niche? Do you have any other unique approach you use to get more exposure through your writing? How diversified is your writing and how does it affect your business?

I’ll be giving you 5 unique ways you can use your writing to gain exposure this year. Each of this approach is tested and proven and you can start using them to improve your profits this year!

1. Guest Blogging

You’ve probably heard about guest blogging before, and that’s because it’s currently one of the top ways you can use your writing to gain exposure for your online business.

Guest blogging involves the process of writing an article, submitting it to a different blog in your niche and linking back to your blog with the hopes of getting results. Guest blogging has a lot of benefits, including but not limited to:

  • Getting traffic
  • Getting subscribers
  • Brand building
  • Building links
  • Gaining exposure

Those are just a few benefits of guest blogging and there’s nothing stopping you from enjoying all. Imagine what difference it can make if your brand is exposed to 10,000 more qualified people in one month. While only a tiny fraction of those readers might visit your blog, if you can build on that exposure you can end up creating a major breakthrough for your business.

If you’re new to guest blogging and don’t know how to start, here are a few articles on guest blogging:

2. Document Sharing

You can also gain exposure for your business by compiling some of your best articles into a free doc file, or by writing a fresh one and then distributing it all over the web. You could distribute it across the top document sharing sites online, you can format it and then spread it across free ebook sites, you can share it on forums and you can share it on social media sites.

The good news is that since you’re sharing a document no one will classify you as a spammer; you’re not linking to your blog and the information in the document is already on your blog, but can still be posted elsewhere, and you will end up gaining more praises and recognition by sharing it.

How then do you benefit from sharing these documents? The answer is simple; make sure you brand the document in a way that people notice your brand, make sure the document include links back to your blog and then market the heck out of it. A lot of people will notice this link and end up visiting your blog.

3. Article/Web 2.0 Writing

There are thousands of article directories and web 2.0 sites online, most of which have great search engine authority and a significant user base. Writing for article directories and web 2.0 sites can also be a great way to gain exposure for your business. Most of these websites have hundreds of thousands of visitors and a huge user base that can see your content if it ends up being featured. Your main aim should be to contribute the best of your content, to focus on marketing it and to ensure there are quality links with the right anchor texts and call to actions pointing back to your blog.

Article marketing is mostly used for SEO but you can also get a lot more direct results if your content is featured on the home page of the article directory of your choice. The key to success in this regards is to make your articles unique to each directory, to provide great value in each article and to drive some initial traffic to make the article directory notice it.

4. Forum Marketing

We all know how effective forum marketing can be these days but we seldom use it.

There are thousands of forums online and hundreds in every niche. A simple Google search of “niche + forum” will turn up a list of several forums online relevant to your niche and you can then register and work on being a “power user” on these forums.

The key to forum marketing is quality. The more quality you’re able to contribute, the more results you will get. You should also be ready to diversify how your content is used on forums; following my tip in point 2 you should be ready to experiment with documents, ebooks and any other form of writing that promotes your business and contributes value to the forum members without coming up as spammy.

5. Email Newsletter

Very few people own an email list but an email newsletter is one of the best ways to gain more exposure to your content by writing.

For every visitor that lands on your site you have a potentially new subscriber. The more email subscribers you have the better it is, and by cultivating regular relationships with your subscribers you will be able to increase your chances of success on the long run.

Of course, the downside to this approach is that it depends on your existing audience, but if used wisely it can be a way to draw new audience to your blog.
