After a career as a professional musician and band leader in the Miami South Florida Area I decided to see if I could make some money with this new internet thing. After years of trial and error I started to get the hang of it and now I am completely financially independent because of my various online businesses. The goal of this blog is to chronicle my continued marketing experiences. I focus on real examples of what works and what does not work. Google does not give us a recipe for getting our sites ranked. We have to use our own experiences to see what actually works rather than theory. I hope you enjoy the blog. Please let us know what you think in the comments area. We appreciate your feedback.

Review of Ventrino.com Walker Traffic Exchange Software

I recently purchased the Ventrino.com Walker Traffic Exchange Software. I had been looking to start a startpage exchange service and came across Ventrino.com. This was more than just a startpage exchange. This software ran, a text exchange, banner exchange, startpage exchange, link tracker, solo email manager, and many more great traffic building features. I thought this would be a perfect compliment to my suite of traffic building sites. Traffic exchanges are a great way for people to start getting traffic to their sites without spending a lot of money. Basically, if you view other people’s sites in the network then you get credits. These credits allow your site to be shown to others in the network. Also if you place the traffic exchange banner code on your site then for every 2 impressions you show the exchange banners your banner get shown on somebody else’s site in the network. I have had some success with startpage exchange websites such as Trafficswarm.com using this concept.

I purchased the full version with Source code from Ventrino.com. Installation was included so I took them up on it. That is when the problems began. The first version that they set up did not even allow me to log into admin. They then set up a second version which was full of database errors. I should have known there was trouble when, after I ordered, I noticed they had no email support. Just email support for sales! I would love that! Just make sales and if anyone has a problem tell them to go to the forum and maybe some kind soul will give you a clue. Well, I posted my problem on their forum and I did find a few friendly members who tried to help. They suggested repairing the database, refreshing my browser, none of which worked. (Thanks anyway though) However, I did not receive one suggestion from the actual people who sold me the software on the forum. Keep in mind this is the initial software professional install done by the developers. If they cannot even install their own software you know you are in trouble. I tried emailing sales and posting in different areas of the forum. I received No responses other than being told I was posting in the wrong forum. (The Forum said “Exchange Support”?)

Eventually they just deleted all my posts, closed all the sales support tickets without responding and still did not install the script properly. They kept my money though!

I hope Martyn and the Walker team get their act together and realize that you do not make money by ignoring your customers you make money by listening to them. I am going to review some of my emails to see if I can give better service too.

Here is a link to a story about someone else who had a similar experience with Ventrino.com.

I am going to check out their competitor Trafficdx This software looks very good. Only problem is that is does not accept recurring Paypal subscriptions only one time payments. Also it is source code protected which means you really do not own the business completely and it is difficult if not impossible to make modifications.

If anybody has ideas on a very high quality traffic exchange scripts I have left the comments section open on this post. Please let me know. I am interested in quality, price is not a major factor. Thanks. Matt.

Update: I have been emailing Ricky, the programmer for Trafficdx and he is giving me some solutions for the recurring payment problem. He really seems to be helpful and knowledgable. I will probably be purchasing the software soon. I will keep you posted.
