How I Completely Dominated Google Video Search For My Local Keywords

 

I have been working on promoting my new local directory for personal injury attorneys “BestInjuryLawyerFortLauderdale.com.” Usually it is relatively easy to rank for local keywords because there simply is not that much competition. For example, I put up a website for a local judo club and all I had to do to be number 1 Google for this term was to make a website with the domain name “judofortlauderdale.com.” It is pretty much the only judo club in Fort Lauderdale so it was no problem to get ranked.

However, the search term “injury lawyer Fort Lauderdale” goes for about $60. per click in Google Adwords. Personal injury lawyers spend a fortune on advertising because just one case can net them thousands of dollars. Many of the highest bid up search terms on Google Adwords are related to personal injury attorneys. It takes some work to get ranked for these local highly competitive terms.

My first step was to write 10 original articles on the subject of personal injury law. I did not use PLR (Private Label Rights Articles.) I wanted to stay away as much as possible from duplicate content issues. I researched the subject and wrote the articles myself.

I then uploaded the articles to my new directory “Best Injury Lawyer Fort Lauderdale Directory.” I am using a wordpress based theme called Premium Press which works quite well.

I then produced 10 videos as teaser videos to entice people to click through to the articles. I used Animoto to create simple catchy slide show type videos. Animoto is an online video creation service which allows you to create attractive slide show type videos with music reasonably, easily and quickly. I then used Camtasia to add a title clip at the end with a call to action to visit my website. Here is a sample video:

Next, I used Contentbuzz to upload my video to the major video hosting companies and about 40 social media sites. Contentbuzz is a very time efficient way of uploading your videos and getting backlinks, likes, and Tweets of your videos. I find it a much more comprehensive system than Traffic Geyser and less expensive. They have a proprietary system where other members automatically bookmark and like each other’s media. Many of my videos have over 20 likes due to this system. So not only are your videos uploaded to the major video hosting sites but your videos are promoted as well.

Contentbuzz does not submit to all the video hosting sites. I then picked key videos and manually uploaded them a much larger list of video hosting sites listed here. I made sure to completely fill out the description and tag areas with keyword rich content. I also included links at the top of the video description areas to my article pages, and Yelp, Yahoo local pages and my Best Injury Lawyer Fort Lauderdale Facebook Fanpage.

What was the result? I completely dominated the first five pages of Google video search for the keywords “injury lawyer Fort Lauderdale.” It was hard to even find a regular attorney in the first five pages of Google video search. Here is a video I did which I plan to show to attorneys to promote my video advertising services.

In addition to all the above I have taken the actual videos of local personal injury attorneys that I am promoting and re-uploaded them through the Contentbuzz system.

Another advantage of dominating local video searches is that it spreads over into the regular Google and Yahoo natural listings. Google loves video. It takes longer to dominate the natural listings for these highly competitive keywords but video marketing is a good starting place.

I hope this gives you some ideas on how to dominate your local market in video search. I have noticed it is something you must keep up. If you stop promoting the videos other listings start creeping in.
