Nothing can be on par with freebies. People around the world feel enticed when a free product/service is provided. Employing this strategy will enable the gain of new prospects. But, we, as a marketer, know nothing comes for free. In return for the free product something has to be gained. Usually it is the mail address. However, most marketers feel unethical about this process. Their argument is that if a product is free, give it away without any expectations. Seriously, if you had been running your business for charity then I would appreciate such views. Unfortunately, businesses are launched for profits and not for charity.

However there is an upside to it. There are always some people who misuse it for their own ends. For example, after purchasing a product someone might ask for a refund. The product might be of high quality. But as you have given your word, the refund should be made.
ClickBank has been facing similar problems. Therefore they have a list of countries which are banned from purchasing ClickBank products. As an individual you will have to face such rogues. But the overall sales will be genuine.

Providing discounts on your product/service works every time. There are two types 1) all time discounts and 2) seasonal discounts. All time discounts run throughout the year. Seasonal discounts are available only when a special season is around. In my opinion it is better to offer seasonal discounts as all time discounts ruins the reputation of the firm.
